Alcohol


If you see in your wine the reflection of a person
not in your range of vision, don’t drink it.

Drinking wine in moderation has been found to be beneficial for health, i.e. up to two drinks a day, where approximately 330ml beer, 125ml wine, 50ml spirits equal one drink. Alcohol is metabolized at about one drink in half an hour.


However, drinking even these volumes with a poor condition of health or the prevalence of liver and other ailments and certain medication can be detrimental to health.



Biologically alcohol acts as a depressant on tne central nervous system and slows down the reflexes and other functions. It helps to relax and liberate inhibitions.



Alcohol is a diuretic and hence causes dehydration. Hence drinking plenty of water before, during or after drinking alcohol helps prevent a hangover.


Colourless drinks like vodka are less likely to cause a hangover. Plenty of water, fruit juices and coffee and if really bad, aspirin or paracetamol can help cure a hangover.



The effect of alcohol varies from person to person, some persons get affected slower others faster, some more others less. The same person may be affected differently depending on the circumstances of food, mental and physical condition, mood etc.


Women are more affected by alcohol because their bodies process it more slowly..Drinking after a meal slows absorption.


Resoventrol a compound in red wine is an antic oxidant and protects the heart it is found to have many other benefits too.

Thus alcohol especially red wine, in moderation is good for health. While in excess it is a health hazard and a potential killer, by its effect on the liver, pancreas, kidney and brain.


Drinking and driving a car, riding a bike, or flying a plane or performing surgery etc. after drinking is very risky, as endangers yourself and others, as it impairs your physical and mental faculties.

If you drink alcohol, do so

in moderation.
